Bad weekend

Well, Friday started off well. I'm working at Hunterston power station in Scotland. Had planned a weekend sight seeing. Then a phone call came from the office. They need my truck in Aylesford in Kent. So, I thought, a simple swap. I go to Aylesford, the guy who was booked for Aylesford comes here. That's where it started to go wrong. He didn't have clearance to work at nuclear sites so I had to come back up. Okay, drove back to S.Wales. Phoned wife on way and had blazing row. Spent night in cab of my Transit in a car park. Got to Aberthaw early Sat morning to pick up some gear the other guy was taking to Aylesford and to swap vans. While there got phone call off wife telling me one of the kids or maybe a cat had tipped a drink over the Sky+ box and it was giving off a really bad smell. Told her to pull out the mains plug and leave it till I got there. She couldn't work out which lead was the mains lead (is the one marked telephone?) so eventually unplugged the lot. Plucked up the enthusiasm and went home. Looked at sky+ box and PSU fried. By now I'm also starting to feel really rough. Looks like I've cought the cold that's going around at Hunterston. Went to bed and stayed there all afternoon. Sat evening went okay but got up Sunday feeling even worse and knowing I had to drive back to Scotland. Stayed in bed until mid day, had some food, got in my van and started on my journey. Everything going well until I joined the M5 at the M5/M50 junction. Merrily plodding along and noticed 3 cars in a row on south M5 all pulled by the police. As I noticed them I get flashing lights behinds me. Navy blue Volvo with blue flashing lights. Yup, got booked for speeding. £60 and 3 points on my, up until then, clean licence. Oh well....carry on to digs to find the heater missing from the room and it's cold. Eventually I get brought a heater. Went to bar and got a pint, took it to my room and promptly spill half down my top.

Roll on next weekend!!!
