Gotta love the dvla

A while ago now, I applied for an Age Related Number Plate for a vehicle on a Q plate.

After the necessary inspections/evidence (insurance cert/factory record/MOT/V5) etc, they have issued me a new number. In the post I recently received:

Insurance cert
factory record
MOT cert
A shiny new tax disc replacement with new reg number....

NO V5. Apparently that takes 6 weeks to go through the system.

6 weeks of tax/insurance/MOT where I can't drive it because I can't get any plates made up.

Has anyone else been in this situation?

according to the government, to get a 'plate made up, you need some ID (which I have), and one of the following: (blatantly copied from the web site you mentioned Paul..)

* vehicle registration certificate ( V5C or V5CNI ) - these are the preferred documents
* the new keeper supplement ( V5C/2 or V5C/2NI ) of the registration certificate
* certificate of entitlement ( V750 )
* retention document ( V778 ) (not applicable in Northern Ireland)
* vehicle licence renewal form ( V11 )
* temporary registration certificate ( V379 ) (not applicable in Northern Ireland)
* authorisation certificate ( V948 ) with an official stamp from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency ( DVLA ), Driver and Vehicle Agency ( DVA ) or Vehicle and Operator Services Agency ( VOSA )
* a letter of authorisation from a fleet operator (including lease or hire company) (not applicable in Northern Ireland) - the letter must quote the document reference number from the registration certificate, not the vehicle identification number

None of which I have, and won't get until they send them to me! Why does the system have to be so complex?

I would love to go through the spares Paul but I'm a bit busy with college at the moment, which I mustn't start complaining about!!
